FAIR TO FINE AND MILD Forecast for Otago. —The following * official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours,. was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Weather fair to fine and mild. Seas slight. Dominion Forecast. —An almost stationary anti-cyclone covers New Zealand and the north Tasman' Sea, while an extensive depression is centred west of Tasmania. Weather fair to fine except in the Gisborne area, where isolated showers are still likely. Cloud increasing to-morrow in western and far southern districts of the South Island and drizzle developing later in south Westland. Cold night, with frosts and morning fogs. Day temperatures milder. Weather in Dunedin: The sun again shone brightly yesterday, but there was a cool breeze from the north-east and temperatures were generally mild. The maximum was 55 degrees. *The barometer, after falling slightly in the morning rose again and stood at 30.43 inches (1030 millibars) at midnight. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 30.47 (1030); noon, 30.45 (1031); 6 p.m., 30.41 (1030); midnight, 30.43 (1030). Thermometers 8 a.m., 44deg; noon, 63deg; 6 p.m., oOdeg; midnight, 46deg. Maximum, 55deg; minimum 39deg.,. Rainfall for 24,. hours ended midnight yesterday—nil.
