An extensive list of appointments to the third echelon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary force, with seniority in the units as indicated, taking effect in most cases from August 27 last, is gazetted to-night. PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENTS New provisional appointments to units of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in various camps in the Dominion have been announced at Military Headquarters. They include the appointment, as Battalion Commander, of Lieutenant-colonel J. B. Mawson, M.C., headmaster of St. Andrew’s College, Christchurch, who will go to Ngaruawahia. The full list is as follows: — Infantry, to Ngaruawahia Camp— Lieutenant-colonel J. B. Mawson, M.C., as C.O. Battalion; Lieutenant A. A. Cooper, as Quartermaster; Captain S. S. H.
