The recent wet weather in Hastings resulted in some strange attire : being adopted to meet the conditions by competitors in the women’s golf tournament. A variety of goloshes made their appearance on the first day, but apparently these were inadequate to cope with the soddeh and ‘muddy greens. On Thursday, several competitors played in long trousers made of leather.
