MILITARY SERVICE

REGISTRATIONS IN CANADA OTTAWA, Sept. 10. (Received Sept. 11, at 10 p.m.) The Minister of Agriculture, Mr J. G. Gardiner, announced that 988,725 single men, aged 19 to 45, have registered for military service, of whom 77,983, in the 21-year class, would start training in October. Two batches of 30,000 each would be called up before Christmas. The figures did not include 60,000 already enlisted for active service.
