The monthly meeting of the Waikouaiti branch was held on .Friday last, when Mrs Tail presided and welcomed a new member. Miss Carson. Each member brought an article -of clothing for refugees. The members of the Farmers’ Union were guests at supuer, when the hostesses were Mrs C. Hallum and Misses Mcllwrick, McDougal and Kenyon. * * v At the monthly meeting of the Beaumont branch members took part in reading a one-act play, and were later shown the weaving of a tartan scarf on a small hand loom by the president, Mrs Dwyer. Members decided to make up Christmas parcels to send to the men of the district now serving overseas. ¥ v v At the meeting of the Glenomaru branch on Saturday last Mrs Wilson presided and the roll-call was “ Something I want to know." A competition for an oven cloth resulted;—Seniors— Mrs Mudie 1, Mrs Laughton 2. Mrs Searle 3; juniors—Misses Wright 1. M. Mudie and L. Ward (equal) 2. Mrs J. Wilson gave an interesting demonstration on bandaging. ¥ V * The monthly meeting of the Kelso branch was held on Tuesday, Mrs Williams presiding. The branch decided to support the W.D.F.U. aeroplane iund. The competitions resulted:— Single bloom—Mrs Williams 1; spiked bloom—Miss M. Mclntosh 1; vase of spring flowers —Mrs Williams 1. Mrs Jenkins 2.
