Mrs Forbes-Robinson has taken a house at Wanaka for a few weeks.

Mr and Mrs Nottage, who spent the winter at Wanaka. have returned to Dunedin.

Before the Regal Revue in connection with the Queen Carnival a dinner party took place last night at Wain’s Hotel, when the Air Force Queen, Miss Mary Pratt, and her nine maids of honour were the guests of the members of the central co-ordinating committee and their wives.

Mrs W. P. Thompson and her children. who recently left Hongkong, have reached Sydney, where they will stay for a time before coming to New Zealand. Mrs Thompson, whose third child was born at sea a few days before she reached Sydney, was formerly Miss Norah Haggitt. of Christchurch, and is the younger daughter of the Dean of Nelson.

The Women’s Committee supporting the Army Queen met on Monday afternoon in the Returned Soldiers’ Association rooms, when final arrangements in connection with the carnival were made, and the conveners of sub-com-mittees appointed. The president. Lady Ferguson, briefly spoke on the work to be done, and wished the helpers all success in their efforts. Mrs D. Smeaton. convener, was in the chair, and Mrs Winston Brinsley acts as secretary. The Army Queen. Miss Airini Grennell. thanked all'members for their support.

A special meeting of women to set up a Women’s Committee in support of Miss Jessie McLennan, the Navy Queen, is being arranged in the Chamber of Commerce board, room, at the corner of Dowling and High streets, for next Thursday at 3 p.m. This meeting is convened under the auspices of the Navy League, and Mrs J. Sutherland Ross is the convener. All those who have supported the Navy League work for sailors’ comforts, representatives from the various women’s organisations in particular, and others interested, are invited to attend.
