NORTH-EAST VALLEY SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE Mr J. J. Paul presided at Die monthly meeting of the North-East Valley School Committee on Monday night. The headmaster reported that the roll numbers were Valley 466 and Opoho 85. Mr R. R. McNeil has commenced duties as sixth assistant, and Miss Baxter as supernumerary Mrs Bohm had forwarded her resignation on account of her marriage, and the committee extended their best wishes for her future happiness. The Centennial Arbor Day planting had been carried out in Longworth street and at Opoho as arranged. In the last three years 74 trees and shrubs had been planted in the Valley grounds and 195 at Opoho. It was decided to purchase an electric sewing machine for use bv the senior girls. The headmaster was authorised to procure any materials required for the new methods of drill teaching. Messrs Smith and Elliott were appointed a Visiting Committee for October.
