NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN ONE DEATH ANNOUNCED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sent. 10. The following Air Force casualties are announced: — Pilot-officer John Fleming, admitted to hospital suffering from injuries as the result of air operations. His mother is Mrs B. S. Fleming, of Wellington. Pilot-officer Kenneth Victor Wendel, killed in air operations. His father is Mr V. Wendel. of Middlemore. Mangere (Auckland). Pilot-officer Robert Gladstone Hall, missing in air operations. His father is Mr A. W. Hall, of Wellington. Pilot-officer Hall is a member of the Maranui Surf and Life Saving Club and was a member of the team which won the junior six-man rescue and resuscitation championships of New Zealand, Wellington Province and West Coast (North Island) in the 1933-39 season.. As a member of the University Swimming Club, he was first home in the Peck Shield Harbour race in February, 1939. He is a member of the Wellington College Old Boys' Rugby Football Club. - " v, THE SECOND ECHELON DEATH OF A PRIVATE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. The death of Private Alexander Lindsay Meikle, a member of the second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in England, was officially reported today. Mrs E. Horwell, Timaru, is his sister. REPORTED MISSING (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 10. Advice that his son. Sergeant Gunner James Bracegirdle, serving with the R.N.Z.A.F. in England, is missing has been received by his father, Mr Arthur Bracegirdle, of Parnell. Sergeant Bracegirdle; who was 21 last November, joined up two weeks after the outbreak of war and went to Levin for preliminary training in the Air Force. Later, he went to Ohakea to train as a gunner and he left New Zealand last March.
