FINE, BUT COLD Forecast for Otago.-—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24-hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:—^ Moderate south-westerly winds, freshening at times on the coast. Weather fine, but cold. Seas, slight to. moderate. Dominion Forecast.— The disturbance which has been crossing the Dominion has formed a secondary depression * near Taranaki. An anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia and the Tasman Sea. Weather unsettled in eastern districts between Kaikoura and •' East Cape, with' intermittent rain, but improvihg to-day from, the south. Elsewhere cloudy. Further scatterea showers likely in western districts of •the North Island. Temperature cool, with frosts at. night in Canterbury and Otago. . ’■- - Weather in Dunedin; Bright, sunny conditions were experienced in Dun- ; edin untikthe middle of the afternoon yesterday, when a heavy bank of clouds came up from the south-west. There was a light sputherly breeze and * the maximum temperature was 60 degrees. The barometer -rose rapidly during the day, the midnight reading being 30.20 Inches (1023 millibars).
