When the Rotorua Borough Council was persuaded to sink an experimental bore to test the suitability of thermal steam for heating the municipal buildings, Cr Kusabs could not (says the Rotorua Post) have envisaged uses to which it would be put,. The steam is being utilised to the maximum. Most of it is passing into the chlorifier to heat the water circulating throughout the building, while the excess regularly heats the morning teabilly of workmen in the vicinity. It is used to bend the strips of woAd being used to border the ornamental gardens and lawns, and thus save a considerable amount of laborious pegging into the required shape, and it is suggested that some of the steam should be used to give a geyser effect when the miniature terraces are constructed in the gardens.
