MORNINGTON RATEPAYERS
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The executive of the Mornington District Ratepayers and Householders’ Association met recently, Mr A. Ibbotson presiding. As a good many property owners have not complied with a request to cut their hedges, which were overgrowing .the footpaths in the district, it v/as decided. to make -a further appeal to the City Council to ask its inspector to make a general tour of the district. -.Satisfaction was expressed that some, ratepayers had paid the necessary attention to this-matter, but it was considered-that there were still many dangerous parts. -' • A request was recently made to the City . Council, urging .it to support the holding'of elections at the usual time. Satisfaction : was expressed on receipt of a reply in favour of the request. On the same question, a reply had been received from the Minister of Internal Affairs.- stating that the Government .would consider' the matter carefully before reaching a decision.
