ARMY CHANGES
PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS
A number of appointments and promotions affecting district mrlitaiy officers are announced in a recent Gazette. Captain. F. H. Grace, of the Reserve of Officers, Nelson - Marlborough Mounted Rifles, is promoted captain, and appointed company commander of the training battalion at Burnham. ■• Lieutenant R. B. Symon. N.Z.S.U. relinquishes the appointment of adjutant, 11th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, and is posted to the Southern Military District School of Instruction (Addington wing). ; Lieutenant R. A. Hay is appointed adjutant. 11th Heavy Regiment. .. Captain H. Holderncss, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of Transport Shipping Officer, Christchurch. and is appointed ship's quartermaster at Army Headquarters. Wellington, and is granted the temporary rank of major while so employed. Lieutenant C. G. Baker ceases to be attached to the " Q " branch, Southern Military District, ard is appointed company commander of the 3rd Battalion of the National Military Reserve Christchurch. Lieutenant H. Fryer M.C.. has relinquished the appointmenl of company commander. Major R. McPherson. M.C., New Zealand Artillery, relinquishes command of the sth Battery, 3rd Field Regiment, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Captain L. R. Webley, N.Z. Artillery, is appointed to command the battery, and will have the temporary rank of major.
