MODERATE TEMPERATURES Forecast for Otago..—The following official weather forecast for Otago, coj/ering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office at Wellington:— Moderate to fresh west to .southwest winds. Weather mainly fair, but occasional rain on the western and southern coasts. Moderate temperatures. . Seas moderate. Dominion Forecast. —An anti-cyclone is located hear the Chatham Islands, while a weak trough of low, pressure which is advancing across the Tasman Sea has reached southern New Zealand. Weather for the most part is fair to mild. It will be unsettled, however, in western and far southern districts of the South Island, with intermittent rain and scattered falls extending later to western portions of Wellington and Taranaki.

Weather In Dunedin: The sun shone brightly yesterday morning, but a fresn north-east breeze prevailed and the sky gradually became: overcast. There was little sunshine after mid-day. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees, and the barometer stood at 29.75 inches (1007 millibars) at midnight. Barometer, inches'and millibars: 8 a.m., 29.90 (1012); noon, 29.70 (1006); 6 p.m., 29.77 (1008); midnight, 29.75 (1007).
