RAIN OF STEEL DARTS

AIR ATTACK ON TRAWLER INCENDIARY BOMBS USED LONDON, Feb. 6. A German Heinkel aeroplane rained hundreds of steel darts on the trawler Russell, during an attack. This was revealed to-day by the skipper, who told of the inferno which'the aeroplane created aboard his little craft. Besides dropping darts, the Heinkel raked the vessel six times with a storm of bullets, and let go dozens of incendiary bombs, which burned holes an inch deep in the trawler’s metal plates. The crew took to a boat and the aeroplane pilot, thinking the vessel was about to sink, waved and disappeared. Undaunted, the crew went aboard again, put out the fires and made port.
