UNOFFICIAL AMBASSADORS TOURING INDIAN CYCLISTS (Special, to Daily Dimes) AUCKLAND,‘Feb. 19. Setting out from Bombay seven years ago to tour the world as unofficial ambassadors on a goodwill mission, three Indian cyclists have reached Auckland after ■ travelling 41.000 miles through 38 different countries, All single men, they are Messrs K. J. Kharas, aged 36. R. D. Ghandhi. aged 33. and R, D. Shroff, aged 32, Appropriately attired in riding breeches, the visitors ride specially built bicycles, which, together with their neatly-packed loads, each weigh 1201 b. They are equipped with three gears and drum brakes, and it is seldom necessary, except on the steepest hills,-for the riders to dismount On their travels they have used eight pairs of tyres each, and agree that the American roads are the best for cycling, being so wide and well surfaced. Some of the countries visited so far include Europe, Asia. America, Japan, China, and .Australia, The .cyclists travel to a wall-organised schedule. Before proceeding south they intend to stay for a week at'Auckland, and when they leave New Zealand they will return to Australia, and later visit the Netherlands East Indies.
