WAR FASHIONS
Nothing speaks more volubly of sang-froid in'face of danger than the accounts of the various war fashions now raging in London. For instance: “ Exquisite crocodile, gold-fitted gasmask containers, complete with brandy, flask, torch, comb, powder, and lipstick, costing £IOO, are on sale in Bond Street. “ Molyneux, the famous dress designer, is installing an underground air-raid canteen, where clients will be provided with champagne, brandy, coffee and caviare. “A well-known milliner has christened his latest confection of black lace, feathers, and white flowers ‘The Black-out Hat.” And they call this war panic.
