RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB On Saturday the members of the Kiwi Defence Rifle Club flred the third and final competition of No. 3 Match on the Pelichet Bay range over 300. 500. and 600 yards, seven shots and one optional sighter being fired at each range. Weather conditions wex - e not conducive to Rood marksmanship, and high scoring was out of the question. Top score off the rifle was obtained by T. Quinn and H Whitehead, the former winning on the count back. Quinn had the distinction 6f being the only member to secure a possible, his 35 at 500 yards being an excellent effort. E. Adams. D. Parsons., and W,. Crimp were the prize winners ■in the A' Grade, while N. Waugh _ A. Begg, and JThomson were similarly placed in the B Grade. Following are the scores, with handicaps, also prize winners in each grade:—
