Ministerial The Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) will arrive in Dunedin from Wellington by the express this afternoon. The Minister, who will be accompanied by his private secretary (Mr F. M. Sherwood), will take part in some of the Centennial celebrations next week, Mr J. Y. Love was a passenger by the north express yesterday morning. Mr F. E. Tyson was a passenger for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr A. G. Homer, who has been appointed supervisor of the Centennial band contest, will leave for Wellington this morning. Dr E- Fitchett and Dr E. H. Williams, who have retired from the teaching staff of the Medical School, will still continue the practice of their profession in Dunedin Mr E. M. Jarvis, of Capetown, will leave by this morning’s express to attend the Presbyterian Centennial celebrations at Wellington. Ho will be accompanied by his niece. Mrs A. M. Spears. The Apostolic delegate to Australia and New Zealand, Archbishop Panico, who is at present visiting Dunedin, yesterday inspected a number of Catholic institutions, including St. Dominic's College, the Christian Brothers’ High School, St. Philomena’s College, and Holy Cross College, Mosgiel, as well as the St. Vincent’s orphanage, the Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor at Anderson's Bay. and the Waverley Boys' Home. Last evening he was tendered a reception in St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Archbishop Panico will leave for Christchurch to-dav. Southbound passengers by Union Airways yesterday afternoon were Mr J. R. Don from Auckland, Mrs R. Cheyne from Wellington, and Mr and Mrs E. Howarth, Mrs P. Wood and Private J. Henderson from Christchurch.
