, DUNEDIN CENTRE MEETING OF EXECUTIVE At the monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Dunedin Bowling Centre on Saturday night, there was a good attendance of delegates, and the president (Mr J. J. Davis) occupied the chair. < The MacGillivray Case In accordance with notice of motion, Mr H. A. Newall moved " That permission be granted at the-next meeting to reopen the case of Mr T. R. MacGillivray with a 'view to clearing it up." Mr Newall reviewed the whole matter from its. Inception, and expressed the j opinion that the case should now be dropped - Mr W O, Clark seconded ■ the motion. The chairman concurred with the motion. If the matter were carried on it would amount 'to persecution, he said. ~ After the motion had been further discussed by the meeting, it was carried, and it was decided that the minutes dealiing with Mr MacGlllivray’s suspension 'should be expunged from the records., • : ■>. Centre Fixtures ! The following list of fixtures as recommended by the Draw Committee was approved October 28—December 1G .(weekly), first eight club matches: November 13—February 12 (weekly, except December 25) January 21, Four-rink Championships, .final on February 21; January 6. club day; January 13 to February 3 (weekly), matches, 9 to 12: February 10, Southland v. Otago, South Otago tourney. Elderly Bowlers’ Dav; February 17-24, Centennial functions: March 2, Adess Shield, North Otago v. Centre: March 9, Adess Shield. South Otago v. Centre; March 15 and 16, Champion of Champions Singles: March 23, Easter tourney: March 30. leads and seconds’ tourney: April 6, continuation of leads and seconds , Leads and Seconds The following recommendation, concerning the leads and seconds’ tournament was brought down by the Tournamenl Committee : That the narru be changed to the junior fours tournament: that entries be confined to bowlers belonging to clubs in the Dunedin Centre with not more than five years’ experience, including the tournament year; that cards with entry forms attached be printed, giving the rules of the tournament. entries to be signed by the secretary of the club In connection with post-section play In the tournament, It was recommended that the two end rinks (numbers one and eight) should be cut out, and that no more than six rinks should plav on a green, The committee’s suggestions , were rejected after a lengthy discussion. Mr J. Mclndoe moved the following amendment:—" That the players qualified to enter be those selected as leads and seconds in the Saturday club matches, with the reservation that, when plavers a-e obliged to play in any other position through a shortage of players their status as leads or second shall be certified by the club selection." This was also defeated, .and the discussion lapsed without any alterations to the tournament being decided upon.
