ro cue EDiiOK Sir, —I certainly told Mr M'Kinnon I would see that he would be paid for grubbing briar on the five-acre Camping Reserve under the control of the Waitaki County Council, but I did not undertake to see that he would be paid for grubbing briar on land two miles away from the reserve, where Mr M'Kinnon says he grubbed it. —I am, etc., W.
