CONCERT AT ROSS HOME

A very enjoyable entertainment was given at Ross Home on Monday evening by the Merrymakers' Concert Party, under the direction of Mr H. O Solomon. The following contributed items:—Mrs Black (passage from Shakespearian drama), Mrs Finch (Scotch songs), Miss Reekie (solos). Miss Dowie (humorous sketch and songs). Mr Moore (accordion solo) Mr G. Silver (variety entertainment). Mr W S. Cooper (mouth organ selections) Mr Carey (musical saw numbers), Mr Adamson (Scottish songs) Messrs Beckingsale, Tahu Parata, and W. S. Cooper (instrumental numbers). Mr Phillips (accordion numbers). Mr W S. Cooper led a community sing and the last item was a vocal number by Messrs Ray and Les Beckingsale and Mr Tahu Parata. The acting matron proposed a very hearty vote of thanks to the party.
