COMMUNITY SINGING

At the community singing on Friday, to be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Fuller-Hay ward), it is expected that the members of the Wellington Rugby football team will be present. Listeners-in have been generous with donations this year, and Mr J. F. Himburg, secretary, would be pleased to receive " Cheerios" by Thursday in order that they can be acknowledged over the air on Friday. Arrangements are being made for a special item, and this promises to be well up to the usual standard. Mr H. P. Desmoulins. the leader, has arranged another good programme of new and popular numbers. Mr Alf Pettitt will be at the piano. Mrs M'lntyre, who is in charge of the stall, will be pleased to receive flowers. Donations can be sent to Begg's or the Strand Theatre, and the proceeds are for the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund.
