(Per United Press Association) WANGANUI. Sept. 14. Charles Scott, who held a licence in the Hawera acclimatisation district, trapped nine opossums in the Wanganui district, and was fined £5 today. Before Mr J. S. Salmon, S.M., Sidney Claude Paget, whose record was said to be bad, for obtaining 10s by false representation, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. WELLINGTON. Sept. 14, On two charges of obtaining money and goods by valueless cheques, Alfred Hinton, aged 56, of Palmerston North, was to-day sentenced by Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., to terms totalling six months’ imprisonment, and was remanded to Hamilton on a forgery charge.
