ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH

TRAGEDY AT PALMERSTON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE FOLLOWS A sequel to the death at Palmerston on August 26, in unusual circumstances, of an elderly man named Stuart Neish was heard in the City Police Court yesterday, when Richard Corrigan, aged 51 years, a labourer in the employ of the Railways Department, in whose company the deceased; was alleged to have been on the night of his death, was charged with manslaughter. Chief Detective Young asked for a remand until Monday next, the application being granted. Corrigan, who was not represented by counsel, asked for bail, but the magistrate (Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) refused to grant it.
