A light north-west wind and dull, overcast weather yesterday was followed by boisterous, squally conditions to-day, heavy rain being experienced early this morning and occasional showers afterwards. The barometer after falling since yesterday morning registers 29.65 in. WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. Yesterday was mild and mostly cloudy with a strong north-west wind, frequently reaching gale force, several gusts being over 60 miles per hour. The maximum temperature was 56.8 degrees. The wind diminished during the night and about 2 p.m. to-day a strong southerly sprang up and continued throughout the afternoon. Rain set in during the morning, and the rest of the day was dull and misty, with fairly continuous rain. The maximum temperature was 54,8 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 13. The weather was\fine but overcast in Christchurch yesterday when a light north-east breeze was blowing. During the night the wind changed to the south-west and early this morning heavy rain commenced to fall and continued all day. The barometer registered 29.55 in at 5 p.m.
