RETURN FLIGHI TO NEW YORK RICHMAN AND MERRIL READY FOR TAKE-OFF (British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, Sept. 11. The American airmen, Richman and Merril, who are now at Speke Aerodrome, near Liverpool, announced this afternoon that they would leave on their return flight New York at dawn to-morrow unless the weather reports become less favourable. They carry a message of greetings from the Lord Mayor of Liverpool to the Mayor of New York. LONDON, Sept. 12. (Received Sept. 13, at 8 p.m.) After an all-night vigil, Reichman and Merrill were again obliged to postpone their return Atlantic flight because of the weather. LORD SEMPILL’S FLIGHT KARACHI, Sept. 11. Lord Sempill has decided to return to England. The remainder of the party is continuing the flight to Australia to-morrow. UNCONFIRMED REPORT LONDON, Sept. 11. Lord Sempill’s London secretary has no knowledge of the report from Karachi that he is returning to London aboard a Dutch air liner, and that meanwhile his companions will fly the machine to Australia, where he will later rejoin them for the purpose of attempting a speed flight to London. Lord Sempill left Hanworth Aerodrome at 4 p.m. on July 10 for Australia. He was accompanied by H. Wood (Major Anson’s pilot), P. Gilroy (wireless operator), and L. Davies (ground engineer). LORD SEMPILL RETURNS KARACHI, Sept. 12. (Received Sept. 13, at 8 p.m.) Lord Sempill’s party have resumed their flight to Australia by easy stages. Lord Sempill returned to London in a Dutch airliner.
