GREETED WITH A HOWL.
THE DUKE AND WOLF CUBS.
When the Duke of York arrived a few weeks ago at the London Rifle Brigade headquarter* to bo present at a Wolf Cubs palaver, a posse of cub* howled a, welcome which his Uo vai Highness acknowledged. A cable was received from the Chief Scoui, Sir Robert Baden Powell, which said: “Cubs here watching palaver with ears pricked and howl their greeting to the Duke of York.” 'the message was received with loud cheering, and a reply v r as cabled to the Chief Scout enjoining him to take care of himself for the good oi cubbing. The Duke thanked Lord Hampton Chief Scouts Commissioner for his welcome, and also for investing him with the badge of the "Silver Wolf.”
