SIXTY YEARS AGO.

Tho City Commissioners, recently nominated by His Honor tho Superintendent, consisting of Mr Sheriff Forman, Mr H. Bastings, and Mr Grey, have accepted office. . . Various rumors are afloat as to tho manner in which tho keys of the Town Board office came into the possession of the Commisioner. IVe have been informed that after the meeting of the members of tho late Town Board, held on Friday last, at which Mr Bastings was instructed to send the keys to Messrs Howorth, Barton, and Howorth, ho accordingly did tender possession of tho keys to that firm, who refused to accept them. Mr Bastings then sent them to His Honor the Superintendent, who formally handed thorn over to tho Commissioners.
