An amazing tragedy was enacted in an examination room at a college in Vilna, where a youth who failed in a previous examination, produced a revolver and (bed at the principal. Other students seized the assailant. One youth in trying to shield the principal was killed. Hie assailant then threw a hand grenade, ha explosion killing himself and another, and wounding 10. Before the panic bad subsided a second youth threw a, bomb, afterwards firing a revolver at the professors, killing one and then committing suicide. The principal was serevely wounded. It is believed that the attack was due to revenge, on account of the principal’s alleged severity.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
