The Otarama arrived at Sydney on May S from Melbourne, and later proceeds to Brisbane to complete her discharge of Liverpool cargo. It was reported to Wednesday’s meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board that during the month of April, 2925, 132 vessels, with a total net tonnage of 179,602 tons, entered the port of Lyttelton, as compared with 119 vessels aggregating 140,402 tons in the corresponding period 12 months ago. i«p - ARGYLLSHIRE DUE TO-MORROW. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the steamer Argyllshire is due at Fort Chalmers to-morrow from Bluff to load a large quantity of refrigerated cargo for London. She will sail early next week for Wellington to complete loading. ORARI FROM LIVERPOOL. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the steamer Orari, which is now at Lyttelton, is expected to arrive at Dunedin on Wednesday next to discharge the remainder of her general cargo from' Liverpool. The vessel will afterwards go to Bluff to commence Homeward loading. PORT SYDNEY HOMEWARD BOUND. The C. and D. Lino advise that the steamer Port Sydney, which left Lyttelton on April 10 for London, passed through Panama Canal on Sunday, May S. THE CANADIAN TRAVELLER. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Traveller is due at Auckland to-dav from Halifax, via Panama. She is carrying general Canadian cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The vessel, which will also load at the ports named for New York, Boston, and Montreal, is due' here about May SSL CORNWALL REPORTED. Advice lias been received by the Federal Company of the arrival at Panama on May 1 of the Cornwall, which left Lyttelton on April 10. The vessel sailed the following day in continuation of her voyage to West of .England ports and London LEISE t MAERSK PROM '• CANADA. ■ The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the motor ship Leise Maersk left Auckland yesterday morning for Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin to continue discharging general cargo from Louisburg and St John. The vessel should arrive here about May 17. ROTORUA LEAVES CURACAO. Cabled news received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rotorua, which left Southampton on April 23 for Wellington, Timaru, and Port Chalmers, arrived at Curacao on May 5, and resumed her voyage the following dayi The vessel is due at Wellington on May 29. DOONHOLM LOADING FOR NEW ' ZEALAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received advice that the chartered steamer Doonholm, left Sydney -(Cape Breton) on May 1 for Montreal to complete her loading for New Zealand ports. 1 n NIAGARA LEAVES VANCOUVER. Cable advice received by the Union Company states that the R.M.S. Niagara left Vancouver at 5 p.m. on Wednesday for Auckland and Sydney, via ports, with passengers, mails, and cargo. She is due at Auckland on May 25. H.M.S. DUNEDIN’S MOVEMENTS. H.M.S. Dunedin, which returned to Auckland on Thursday from her extended cruise of New Zealand, will remain at the northern port for about six weeks. At the end of that period tho warship is expected to sail for the Islands, but will again be in New Zealand waters during the visit of the American battle cruisers during August. RUAPEHU LEAVES LIVERPOOL. Cabled advice received by the Federal Company states that the Ruapehu loft Liver£ool on May 2 for Auckland, Wellington, yttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is expected at Auckland about June 13 and at Dunedin about two weeks later. lONIC AT SOUTHAMPTON. Cable advice received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company etates that the liner lonic arrived at Southampton on the morning of May 4. The vessel, which loaded in New Zealand, sailed from Wellington on March 26. Tho lonic is to sail from Southampton on May 22 for Wellington and Port Chalmers with passengers and cargo. She should arrive at Wellington about June 29. CARGO FROM NEW YORK. Advice has been received that the Bain Line steamer Min, 4694 tons, has been fixed to leave New York bn June 10 with case oil and general , merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Sydney. The Min will be followed about June 24 by the Blletman-Hall Line steamer Romeo, 5157 tons, for Auckland, - Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and Australian ports. Both vessels will be running under the auspices of the A. and A. Line. NEW STEAMER GOLDEN CAPE. The (New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the steamer Golden Cape from Louisberg. St. John, and Newport News, cleared Colon on April 24 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Sydney, and Melbourne. The vessel is due at this port about May 22. The Golden Cape is a new vessel of 4554 tons, owned bv the Golden Cape Steamship Company, of London. She was built by W. Hamilton and Co. (Ltd.), of Glasgow, at the end of last year. Her dimensions are: Length 357.6 ft, beam 52ft, depth 26.5 ft. NEW STEAMER PAP'PINBAREA. The steamer F’appinbarra. which arrived at Sydney on April 23 from Scotland, was built to the order of N. Cain’s Coastal Steamship Company (Ltd.), by Lithgow Shipbuilding Company. She is intended for New South Wales coastal trade. Her dimensions are;—Gross tonnage 519, length 153 ft, breadth 35ft, moulded depth 9ft 6in. -She is a steel twin-screw steamer of light draught, and has a sea speed of 11 knots. The voyage , from Scotland occupied 76 days, via Torres Strait. The Pappinbarra experienced a severe buffeting, and her seagoing qualities were well tested. A feature of her construction is the inclusion of a refrigerating chamber. Captain J. Smith brought the steamer to Australia. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
