THE NEW AZALEA ALBERTELIZABETH.

Lord Lambonrne, the president of the Royal Horticultural Society, exhibited at the society’s show on February 24 a .specimen of the above-named azalea. This new variety wa.s raised by Messrs J. B. Haerens and Henri Willc, of St. Amondsburg, near Ghent, and was first exhibited by them at the Ghent International Horticultural Exhibition in April, 1923. The large, semidouble, white flowers have carmine edging and markings. The exhibit was awardee] the Sander Memorial Cup offered for the best new plant at the show. As its name implies the variety was dedicated to King Albert and Queen Elizabeth of the Belgians. It is of very free-flowering habit.
