LONDON TALLOW SALES. Messrs Dalgoty and Co. report having received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, May 6, 1925: “Eight hundred and fifty-five casks tallow were offered and 300 casks were sold; prices were nominally unchanged; tallow neglected, inferior tallow was easier.” LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. are today in receipt of a cablegram from their London agents, May G, which reads as follows: —“Slightly improved competition. Compared with closing rates of last London sales; Merino, best descriptions, declined 10 per cent; merino, other descriptions, declined 15 per cent, to 90 per cent. Continental buyers are the principal buyers.” CLEARING SALE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report having held a very successful clearing sale of Mr John Pryde’s dairy herd, horses, implements, etc., at Kaikorai Valley, last Tuesday. There was a good attendance of the public from all the surrounding districts. The herd consisted of Jersey-Holstein cross cows of exceptionally good quality, and there waa keen, competition for almost every cow offered. The following are some of the prices received: —£16 Es, £l4 10s, £l4, £ll 15s, two at £ll, two at £lO 10s. The herd averaged £9 14s. The implements also sold at full market rates. WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD DEBENTURES. The Wellington Hospital Board, which recently issued a debenture loan of 5J per cent., has decided to again , approach the public direct for a further loan. The new debenture ]oan is for £50,000, the interest rate being 5J per cent, per annum, payable half-yearly, and the period is 10 years from March 14, 1926. ,Debentures are £IOO each. Supporting the loan is the capital of the rateable property under the jurisdiction of the local bodies in the Wellington Hospital Board’s district, amounting to £39,346,432. LONDON MARKETS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 6. (Received May 7, at 8.10 p.m.) At the wool sales there was rather more competition and general interest, but prices remained unchanged. New Zealand “Hiko ” made 41 Jd and “Dumgreo" 29£d. Tallow.—Bsl casks were offered and 331 sold. Prices are unchanged. Sales of the Waimana’s apples were: Dunns and Jonathans, 14s to 15a 6d; London Pippins, 14s 6d to 15s 6d.—A. and N.Z. Cable. AMERICAN WHEAT MARKET. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
