HARRY LAUDER.
The great Scottish entertainer, Sir Harry Lauder, whose season opens at His Majesty’s to-morrow, will arrive in Dunedin this morning. Ho will bo met by the pipe band and motored to his hotel, the band leading the way. Sir Harry will be a guest of the Rotary Club on Thursday to luncheon, and as ho is one of the mest enthusiastic Rotarians he may be expected to say a few words on the usefulness of these institutions. Among his new numbers none will be more popular than his fine character study, “The Boss o’ the lioose.’.’ Ibis is one of the finest things in his remarkable repertoire. Another new song is “The End of the Road,” which took London bv storm —so much so, in fact, that their Majesties the King and Queen specially invited him to Balmoral for a week-end with the object of hearing this number. Sir Harry remarked at Invercargill (ho other day to an audience that crowded the Municipal Theatre that he intended to retire at tho end of this world’s tour. He bad, he said, 25 years in the entertainment world, and had always tried to bring sunshine and laughter wherever he went. As this will be Lauder's last appearance in Dunedin it is hoped that those who appreciate his talents will be present to say good-bye. A fine company supports the star. There will ho a matinee on Saturday, tho 16th. The booking is at tho Bristol.
