RARE ANIMALS OF CENTRAL ASIA.

Colonel Theodore Roosevelt and his brother Kermit are leaving the United States early this year at the head of a scientific expedition into the Himalayan region for the Field Museum, Chicago. The funds are being supplied by Mr James Simpson, genera! manager of Marshall Field and Co. The purpose of the expedition is to got a complete collection of animals and birds from the Himalayan region, especially specimens of ovis noli, first described by Marco Polo, which are thought to be the original mountain sheep. Other rare animals to be sought are the long-haired tiger, the great ibex of the Tianshan Mountains, and the Yarkand stag The expedition will be fitted out in Kashmir. Most of its time will be spent in Chinese Turkestan and Bokhara.
