MAIN ENGINE PUMPS' DAMAGED. <Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. May 5. The steamer Mnraroa, which is to relieve the Wahine for the winter running of tho ferry service, left Wellington last night, at 8 o'clock in a heavy southerly wind. When three hours off Wellington Hoads, in a terrific sea. an accident happened to tho main engine pumps, and the steamer was forced to stop. She succeeded in making port under her own steam at six knots, arriving at 7.30 this morning. There were no passengers on board. The Mavaroa was to dock at Lyttelton.
