HOLY CROSS COLLEGE.

CONCLUDING CELEBRATIONS. The silver jubilee celebrations in coiw ncotion with Holy Cross College, Mosgiel, Were concluded yesterday. At 10 a.m. there was a solemn Mass of thanksgiving at the seminary, when all the visiting priests and prelates were present. The Mass was sung by Bishop Cleary (Auckland), and the assistant priest was Father Woods (Lawrence). The deacon was Father T. Hanrahan (Christchurch), and the sub-deacon Father Jvlimcck (Marten). The niusic was provided by the choir of the college, and the ceremony was carried out with great solemnity. Altogether, there wore 60 priests present, whilst all the students participated. Luncheon' was served at the college at noon. In the afternoon an entertainment was tendered to the visitors by the present students, the programme for which was as follows:—Pianoforte duet, 2nd Rhapsody, Messrs G. O’Meeghan and P. Cullen; vocal solo, “The Bard of Armagh. ‘ Rev. P. Breen; Gloria, “Messe Solennollo,” College choir; vocal solo, “Pro Petaitis,” Mr C. Evans; ’cello solo, “ J ruurnerei,” Mr 15.I 5 . Cullen; vocal solo. “Angels Guard Thee,” Mr J. Kilgour (’cello obligato, Mr P. Cullen); vocal duet, “Nocturne,’’ Messrs G. Lockwood and A. Foley; finale, selection from "I’annhauser”; solo, “0 Pure and Tender Star of Eve,” Mr F. ToHjty; chorus, “Pilgrims’ Chorus.” College Choir. The Rev. Father Andersen was conductor, and Mr G. B. O’Meeghim accompanist. Mr F. H. Terry filled the role of secretary; Rev. J. Maguire, Messrs M. Foley, W. Herlihy, J. A. M'Kay, and assistants wore responsible for the staging of the programme, and Mr A. E. Bennett supplied the scenery and lighting effects. Late in the afternoon the visitors left for Dunedin, where they were entertained at dinner by tho Dominican Sisters at the Priory Archbishop Redwood returned thanks on behalf of the visitors for tho hospitality shown by tho rector of the colfege, the professorial staff, and tho students.
