Groves, would like to marry her, but JNeclda, probably with the motor car driter still fresh in her mind, refuses, on the good ground that marriage would b© a mockery without love. She "comes of the blow of the Trevors," and her mother has instilled in Nedda a belief in loyalty to self And so it goes on that her dissofute stepfather murders his wife (Nedda's mother), and Nedda is accused- of thecrime. In her despair she appeals to Groves for assistance, and he responds with a proposition that the price of his help is nirnW Naturally, Nedda refuses the exchange iaLl very soon, by ono of those turns in the S he , el °? fortune, the motor car driver, t U i W i nslOTV ', finds her. He clears her oi tfto charge levelled against her, and the pair are "mado one" in the good old orthodox fashion. "Heredity" is supported by a lopical Budget, a scenic ("St. Albans") and a Vita comedy, "Turks and Troubles.* 5
