BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR
His Majesty's Trade Commissioner in New Zealand is advised by the Board" of Trade in Ixmdon that it is proposed to extend very considerably the scope of the British industries Eair to be held in 1920. These trade fairs have been held annually in London sinqe the war, and preparations' are now being made for industries fairs to bo .hold simultaneously in. London, Birmingham, 'and Glasgow on February 23 to March 5 1920. The three fairs, though held in difteren.; towns, are in reality one fair, while tlio fairs m Birmingham and Glasgow are organised by the municipality of the respective cities under the auspices and with the support of the Board of Trade. Each fair represents a specified group of industries no one industry being permitted to exhibit at two fairs.
Participation in the fair is confined to British manufacturing firms whose principal works and head offices are situated within the British Empire, and are not controlled by foreign interests. The fairs are not exhibitions in the ordinary sense of the word, but trade fairs to which admittance is restricted to bona fide trade buyers seriously interested in the participating trades, and admission is by invitation only. It has been arranged by the Board of Trado to house the London Fair of 1920 in ■the Crystal Palace, the largest exhibition building in the world; and from the arrangements made, so far, it would appear that there will bo sufficient space for the manufactures of suitable dominion firms to be included.
