RAILWAY EXTENSION

An engineer from tho Public Works Department has arrived to proparo for an early start on the Wairoa section of tho task Goast railway, about two miles from town. It is proposed to employ the Maori Pioneer Battalion, under Captain Broughton oh a system of contract. '
