Shots were exchanged in numerous encounters, but there were no fersh casualties. The police have regained control.—The Times. CHICAGO RECRUDESCENCES. EIGHT FATALITIES. MILITARY AND POLICE TEMPORARILY DEFIED. NEW YORK, July 29. (Received July 29, at 7.45 p.m.) Two fresh outbreaks of rioting ha.ve occurred at Chicago. Fighting between aTmed whites and blacks resulted in eight persons being killed and scores wounded. The military 1 and nolice were unable to cope with the disorders for several hours. —A. and N.Z. Cable. RIOTS .CONTINUING. HOSPITALS FULL OF WOUNDED. NEW YORK, July 29. (Received July 30, at 0.35 a.m.) Rioting _ is spreading throughout the negro section of the ci'ty of Chicago. Fourteen were killed, of whom nine were whites. The hospitals are full of wounded, and hundreds of arrests have been made.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
