FATALITIES.
At 6.30 on Sunday evening an elderly man named Francis Forrested was found dead in a workshop attached to his premises at 38 Outten street, South Duncdin. An inquest was held yesterday afternoon before Air 11. Y. Widdowson, S.M.. sitting as coroner. Tho •evidence of deceased's wife (Mrs Louisa Ann Forrester) showed tliat about 4.30 p.m. the deceased went out to attend to his fowls, and on going in search of him sho found hirn lying dead in tho workshop. Dr Gordon Macdonald gave ov i_ denco as to the cause- of death, which he said was duo to heart failure. A vordict was returned in accordance with the medical testimony. Tho deceased was a very old resident of Sonth Dur.cdin. A returned 3oldier named Georgo Thomas M'decry, HXiiy wa, who returned to the dominion throe weeks ago, died' suddenly yesterday afternoon while walking from the Normanby train terminus to Port Chalmers. Lance-corporal M'Clccry and a companion had been at the Repatriation Oflico in tho morning in reference to a job at Port -Chalmers. They were on their' way' to Port, as stated, and had proceeded about 200 yards from tho tramcar when M'Cleery r.uddenly fell and expired in a second or two.
