The Arbitration Court award for retail chemists Rives registered assistants £4 17 s 6d and unregistered assistants £3 15s weekly, being a rise of 10s in each case. Tho court also allowed higher pay for apprentices. The court declined to shorten tho hours or to exclude unqualified female assistants, though the latter must not bo employed in dispensing drugs.
