RAISULI'S RISING
NUMEROUS SPANIARDS MASSACRED. DECISIVE FIGHT IMPENDING. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 20 (delayed). According to Tangier telegrams the incoming troops say that the losses in the recent fight were 'under-estimated. Raisuli's tribesmen took no prisoners, but killed many hundreds, of whom a large proportion were brutally massacred. The corpses were left unburied amid brushwood, and attracted packs of wild dogs. Care for the wounded was pitiably inadequate. Many wounded lay at the outposts for a week without attention. A severe and decisive fight is impending Bcrth_ sides have been reinforced. If the Spanish troops were properly equipped and skilfully handled victory would be assured, because the tribesmen * are not provided with artillery.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
