THE DIGGERS' PIERROTS
«s~ The Pierrots of the New Zealand Division, who were organised in France during tho war period in order to provide entertainment for the soldiers in the fighting lino, are at present touring the dominion and will open a two nights' season at His Majesty's Theatre on Thursday. Not only in France, but everywhere they have appeared in New Zealand, the Diggers' Pierrots have met with overwhelming success. _ Their style is easy, unrestrained and intimate, and occasionally they get a .touch of the trenches into thsir " business " and jokes. The entertainment consists of numerous turns—songs, quartets, eta by pink Pierrots, assisted by a chorus' and ensemble effects. In the second half there are sketches and a highly diverting character play showing the Pierrots to bo clever mummers as well as singers and danoers. One of the stars of the combination is Mr Stan Lawson, who is said to be one of the best female impersonators ever seen in thii country. Daintiness in dress, movement and in figure are part of an exceedingly impersonator, so real that many are com plrtoly deceived Mr Lawson delights the audience in A Hole m the Stocking " and creates much diversion in "Busv and "The Pride of tte Pier." iEutSEU G.
