LEAGUE OF NATIONS
AMERICAN RESERVATIONS. AGREEMENT BY FRANCE AND BRITAIN. NEW YORK, July 20 (Received July 27, at 5.5 p.m.) The Washington correspondent of the New York Times states tnat it is understood that Senator Lodge has received assurances from prominent British statesmen that both France and Britain will agree to the reservations by the United States of the League of Nations Covenant especially Article 10 and the article dealnag with the-Monroe Doctrine. It is rumoured that President Wilson has been informed of this alleged fact in order to gain his consent to such reservations.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
