N.S. WALES WHEAT SCANDAL.
EXPERT EVIDENCE. Ptmo Aiwoiation—Bj Telegraph—Copyright . SYDNEY, July 25. (Received July 25, at 11.5 p.m ) At the sitting of the Wheat Commission to-day another wheat expert and a member of the Advisory Council of the Australian Wheat Board gave evidence that previous to the Georgeson contract all.sales of wheat for the East were contained by the Advisory Board, but the latter was not officially advised of the beorgeson contract. Witness considered that the Minister of Agriculture had no power to make a contract for selling wheat overseas under the constitution of tie Wheat Board H e thought it most incomprehensible how any person with a knowledge of the wheat trade could draw up such a loose document. The price ought to have averaged 5s 3d .per bushel, iho New Zealand and Swedish Governments did not refuse to take the 1916-17 wheat, but those Governments bought from certain States. In New Zealand's case the wheat was bought from Victoria.
