Considering tlie number of games played in interclub matchcs he thought the club should really have been placed se<oond. All would agree that it had. been a very wise thing to play a rinks competit'an instead of tho handicap singles. As far as tournament playing was concerned, he thought members had put up tho best performance in the history of >,ho club. Ho felt that Mr Aintmaji deserved their congratulations on his very fine performamce last season in winning the club championship, the City Doubles (with Mr Procter), and in skipping a rink which -was runner-up at the Christchurch Easier lournamcnt. Last season tho club was very successful in billiard matches, and he understood that several matches would como oif this year. It was unfortunate that tho club was not able to I return the invitations, bu; that would come. | Mr Ixinliam expressed his appreciation of the way in which he had been supported by I tlie treasurer and the committee, and also referred to the loss occasioned by the roL'loval of Mr Popo and Mi- Abel from tho district. He could hardly put into words how much he appreciated t.hn secretary's work. Unfortunately Mr Procter's principals had just decided to transfer him to Wellington, and it would be very hard to replace him. He thought tho appointment of his successor should be held over till his return. Tho dub was to be congratulated on having paid its debts during the year, but no more than that could bo said for the financial position. The motion was seconded by Mr J. Beddon and carried. .The president then presented the following certificates:—Ciub Singles Champion and Gold Medal, C. Amtman; Junior Singles Champion. J. It. Rogcrsoi>; Handicap Doubles. R Coxon and K. A. M'Donald; Kinks Competition—D. E. Ivory, T. R. Procter, A. Kilpatriok, and W. F. AbeL The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: —President, Mr 11. H. Williams, seconded by Mr H. W. Jones, to increase the subscription for full members to £2 12s 6d, and to increase to £1 4s the amount to be paid by an hon. member to secure full membership in the club. It was decided to play tho same olub competitions as last year, and to eater 12 rinks in the inter-club matches. Mr R. A. Cleland remarked that he thought there was little use in holding annual bowling meetings during the dead season. He thought it -would bo better it they were held at the end of September.
