FLIGHT FROM ROME TO TOKIO. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. ROME, July 17. D'Annunzio is organising a Rome-to-Tokio flight. Five machines are participating.—A. and N.Z. Gable. ACCIDENT AT ST. JOHN'S. RAYNHAM'S MACHINE WRECKED. NEW YORK, July 17. (Received July 24, at 11.5 p.m.) The New York Times correspondent at St. John's reports that Raynham, with his navigator (Biblecomb), attempted to start on a transatlantic flight. The plane rose 300 ft in the air, when it was caught by a cross wind. The plane turned, and fell to the ground, resulting in a total wreck. Raynham and Biblecomb were both uninjured. _ Raynham states that he has now definitely abandoned the" flight.—A. and N.Z Cable. MAIL SERVICE TO AUSTRALIA. EARLY INAUGURATION EXPECTED. LONDON, July 24. (Received July 25, at 1.25 a,m.) In the House of Commons. Mr H. Pike Pease said he anticipated that an aerial mail service would shortly be used for letters to Australia.
