N.B. WALES WHEAT SCANDAL.
CONTINUATION OF INQUIRY.
SALE TO GEORGESON DEFENDED^
Pre»» Association—By IVlegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, July 23. (Received July 23, at 8 p.m.) At the sitting of the Wheat Commission to-day members and ex-members of the Wheat Board, in detailing the. conditions of the sale of the balance of the 1916-17 crop to Georgeson at 4s per bushel, declared that it was a good bargain, considering the condition of the wheat. One stipulation of the sale was that Georgeson should have the sole agency for the sale of wheat to Japan for a certain period. This was granted because of the great trouble in securing the necessary shipping, whereas Georgesoil had special facilities for securing the needful shipping. Georgeson afterwards sold the wheat at 4s 9d to 4s lid. In replying to a query about getting the wheat away before a certain date, Georgeson declared that the condition of the grain was such that if it were kept much longer it would, he thought, have got away of its own accord.
