SYDNEY, July 22. _ After a prolonged cessation of operations, the Necessary Commodities Commission has resumed its sittings, and has fixed necessary commodities at the prices ruling yesterday.
Mr James, Minister of Education, has taken over the portfolios of Labour and Industries, vice Mr Beebv. resigned BRISBANE, July 22. Tho Premier (Mr T. J. Ryan) is suing the Melbourne Argus, claiming £10,000 damages in respect to alleged defamatory matter published on November last in connection with the conscription campaign.
